I relish biodiversity and study diverse organisms and topics in the California and Caribbean biodiversity hotspots. My students and I examine the behavior, ecology, and toxinology of venomous snakes and arthropods, but we also investigate the behavior, ecology, taxonomy, and conservation of endangered iguanas and birds in the West Indies (primarily the Bahamas). I’m also concerned about environmental education – especially among faith groups, which need to develop a stronger conservation ethic.
